We all gathered at the Blackwood Arms at Littleworth Common for the Mike Gilby Memorial Hash.
The weather was fine and warm as Queen Josephine arrived with her faithful attendees, whilst waving regally to her minions from her chauffer driven chariot. After the usual greetings and chit-chat we were called to order.
We were promised a beautiful flat run. I think this was a subtle dig at the scribe for last week’s mildly undulating hash, and we were not disappointed. Some people are not easily pleased.
David, our current GM said a few words in remembrance of his predecessor and we were off heading west through the woods, until we emerged, a short time later at the junction of Dorney Wood Road and Dropmore Road.
The trail crossed the road and followed a footpath past a field of excitable horses and after many on-backs were completed, we continued towards Hedsor Golf Course.
At this point, we left the road to our right as The Blonde had organised for us to run through some private woods, which surrounded the aforementioned golf course. After a little while, Ade and myself were challenged by some bloke, who wanted to know what we were doing running on private property. I think it was the menacing stare and some choice words from Ade that sent him packing and we continued on our merry way.
To our amazement, we had somehow looped back and ended up at the point where we first entered the woods.
At some point after there was a long short split, but to be honest I cannot remember where and then we returned along the same path that we started. Not sure how that happened, however a load more on-backs had somehow appeared from thin air to slow down the FRB’s on the way in.
We all returned and were greeted with plentiful chips and much BEER!

Congratulations to our Graham for completing the LONDON MARATHON on Sunday in an excellent time of 4 hours, 40 mins despite the hot conditions.
