In July 30th at Gerry and Rose's
High Wycombe Harriers struck up poses
In costumes themed for Disney-'wood
Looking forward to the food
That they so generously provide
Along with copious drink besides.

Gerry told us of the trail, and handed
Out saucers to the bunch of bandits.
Warned of arrow-checks based on gender
The girls to be led by a lady most tender.
The shorts would be 3 miles, the long's more
But the weather  - and no Helen  - made it 2.4.

Led by GM Rodrigo, fellow Mexican
Whose bullet points were his lexicon
Sarah the teapot spouted poetry
And Antony's clock said 'time for tea'.
Dogged by the footsteps of Cruella
And her Dalmation: Dave's the fella.

Phil and Barney (aka Johnny Depp)
Fought off the Blue Lagoon at every step
To find their lolly and their T-shirts too
For runs beyond the ken of me and you.
Sandra, too, after admiring the scenery
Was awarded a shirt for her centenary.

Rob G's children were as intrepid
As Indiana Jones, and as rapid.
The latter said that youngsters are our future
While his daughter handed out prizes for couture.
And there's something about Mary I must mention:
Jo gave a lesson in gravity prevention.

In such hot weather the nice short run we took, A-
round the edge of the common at Booker
Was as welcome as the great repast
That has been a feature of many years past.
