Hash 1236
1236
After a wet day, looking forward to the evening hash, the rain stopped, but undaunted a multitude of runners turned up at the chequers, for the briefing,
I! DS O F = had been carefully written in the carpark by the Hare
I exclaim Didcot Services Oh F*** was a possible explanation, but we were actually informed the I was a line of flour rather than a dot, laid on the right, ! was a hazard, DS was a Drink Stop and F= was a false, which I don't believe was found, what was found were lots of R's I didn't count them precisely as initially I had no idea how many there was to be, I estimate about 20, and the R was growled by some of the longs.
The run started up the hill, and dropping straight back down we met the Hare waiting, Dick who had arrived a bit late, thought Mike was lost (not realising he was the hare) so failed to shortcut to catch us up, but did so after a few of us crawled through a length of freshly cut hedging parallel to a perfectly good field path, taken by others, to get between afore mentioned regroups, this regroup did have some reading material in the form of a monument, which made me wonder if the Egyptians were hashers, and knew pictures would be more readily looked at? The long route was kind of familiar and I did hear it asked if it was set in flour, or was actually a painted fixture around Amersham.
The Bucksfizz to celebrate Judy's birthday was well received and the appropriate song was sung, before a quick trot back to the pub, to join numerous locals watching the end of the football. A short quick Hash, no shiggy and a drink stop, which the longs got to before the shorts? What more could we ask for.
