We started the run last Tuesday from The Gate in Great Missenden. The weather was, at that point, dry, but it had been raining earlier in the day, and it wouldn’t be long before everyone got very muddy.

We ran from the pub, up into the woods, and then past a field containing some small horses. We then followed the road for a while, before turning right and following a path down back into the woods, where we battled brambles, stinging nettles and a lot of mud. We then emerged from the woods, and ran through some fields, before looping round to the left and following a path back into the woods, where we once again encountered mud and brambles.

We then ran back down a path through dome fields, where we met some more, much bigger, horses, who were mostly friendly, (and someone was talking about some weird goaty-sheep but i’m not really sure what that was about).

We then rejoined the road, and ran back down past some more woods,  before turning right and running back down through some more fields. At the next check, we turned right again and followed a path that would take us back up to the road. We then ran along the road until we arrived back at the carpark.

Back at the pub, we were greeted with several large bowls of chips (which i ate a large proportion of by myself), and sat down to watch the athletics on TV - where we saw a British guy come fourth in a track event ( i’m not sure which) and an American win the pole vault.

Thanks to Helen and Aaron for a great hash with lots of chips.
