Hash 1443
1443
Summing up the hash in three words: Mud, Mud, Mud!!!! Literally shiggy here, there, and everywhere.
It did however make me very smug that I was wearing waterproof sealskin socks and walking boots, which turned out to be perfect attire for the evening. The conditions also meant that despite still being restricted to walking I kept finding myself at the front of the hash while the ‘runners’ tried to tip toe around the brown sludge.
Not such a bad time of year to be injured after all!
We just had to be thankful that we didn’t have to go around the route three times like Mick had setting it, he must really really like playing in the mud to have not changed the route after the first time.
Other events on what will no doubt be a strong contender for ‘Muddiest Hash of the Year’:
- Audrey very kindly lent Natalie her spare shoes – I hope she didn’t want them to stay clean
- Isobel lost her shoe to the mud at least a few times
- Yob moosed
- There was lots of walking on the long, we obviously need to increase the mud training, so they can better cope with the conditions
- Glen hurt his thumb, ahhhhhhh!
- Lots of birthday celebrations (Jo & Des) – Aaron thoroughly enjoyed the multiple sing-song
- Sarah didn’t have the baby
- Lots and lots of lovely chips!
All in all a very pleasurable run - if you like mud that is - and lovely chips (which we all like!) and good beer. What more could we ask for from a hare? Well done Mick!
