A five star Hash!

This week's venue was none other than 2016 Hash Pub of the Year, The Wheel at Naphill. This pub is a hash favourite for many reasons: good location, good hospitality, welcoming host, an abundance of parking, good beer, plenty of chip butties, need I go on.
I have to say this was an amazing hash from start to finish, much better than last week!
The long was 5.5 miles and the short set at 3.5 miles.
So a bit about the actual run - we set out across the recreation ground and then headed generally in a south easterly direction until the longs and shorts split near Hughenden Manor. The longs then did a circuit of the manor grounds before chasing the shorts towards Downley Common and then returning towards the pub through Naphill Woods.
Interlude: A riddle heard on the hash -
What do you call a man with a wooden head?
Answer - Edward
It was a lovely sunny day on Tuesday and Elvis and I thoroughly enjoyed setting this hash. (I hope it is as nice next week for Maggie who has a reputation for setting hashes in the rain).
The fair weather continued through the evening as planned and it turned out to be a beautiful starry night. There was very little shiggy to be found which is very unusual for Naphill Woods at this time of year.
Before too long we had returned from whence we came.
The longs and shorts both made good time and were back in the pub in time for beer and chips.
