As is the custom nobody listened to the hare very much and probably missed the announcement regarding “the sting in the tail.”

The hash moved off in the usual cacophony downhill through harvested fields. The sun was shining and there were glorious views over towards Princes Risborough. All was well with the world. After a few on backs we reached Lodgehill Farm and past a few wallabies. There was a gentle climb up Lodgehill with the light fading quickly. The summer is over and torches a necessity. After a lung bursting climb through Neighbours Wood we reached the long awaited Long/Short split. The shorts went through Routs Green and back to the pub and the longs towards Wigans Lane. During the long descent down Radnage Lane the attention of the hash was turning to thoughts of food and beer. Ken asked how far we had come. I’ll tell you when we have reached 5 miles said the hare but I am not sure if he ever did. During the crossing of Radnage churchyard the hare regaled us with facts regarding his family tree.

The sting in the tail for the longs was a vicious climb to the on inn and for the shorts just that nettles and brambles.

Thank you Simon for a glorious run. Two serving behind the bar, plenty of chips and dips (even for Mike) what more could one want.
