The Stag and Hounds

Hummery: A cosy real-ale haven - any pub which has its own ‘Beer Bat’ to assist with tasting a wider variety of ales has my vote straight off! If they could sort out their non-beer offerings, this pub could be a contender for ‘Pub of the Year’, but if you only drink beer, you won’t really care will you?

Overheard on the hash (22nd December 2015)

‘Come on Kev, check it out!’ ‘I am doing’ ‘No you’re not - I’ve seen kerb-crawlers move quicker than you’ Kev receives plenty of encouragement from the other side of the road whilst checking out an unpromising lead.

‘I’d never go on any hash set by Roger’  [Response] ’Why?’  [Ken dredges his memory…and comes up short] ‘I’ve forgotten, but there must be a reason’

‘How did you get that bruise Hawkeye?’ ‘Ah well.. it’s a long story….’ ‘Give us the shortened version then’ ‘ Well, I was riding along….’ [Matt interrupts] ‘So you hit something and fell off your bike?’ [Hawkeye] ‘Yup, that’s pretty much it…’

‘It’s a good job she’s going home tomorrow - there’s a half-finished stud partition wall and if she’s not careful, she might just end up inside it’ [Nikki’s Xmas house guest - no names please - risks overstaying her welcome]
